Trip to The Farm!!
We went to Green Meadows Farm (I think that's the name) to learn where our food came from. I learn it came from Queens... JK! We got to feed the hens with the weeds we pick up. We also got to pet the goats. The farm was really big!! I learn that the soil in which we plant our vegetables and fruits in have animal poop in it... :( Ewwwwww!!!! My dad said that's the best soil and the veggies and fruits will taste ten times better than the grocery ones. But.... poop!!! Just imagine it!! Pig poop in your bowl of veggie soup (king of random...)!!! Overall it was really fun. Also pulling the weeds was really fun because Sam decide to have a hay fight. Also it was kind of weird that some of the hay was hot (the temperature not the way you thinking about it...). Also it was weird that the in the center of the hay the temperature is over 100 degree. The cultural event they did was also fun even though we didn't get to attend... :( The dance was really good and so was the beat of the drum!!! LLLLLaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! I totally fail at singing!! *Smiles*
Field Trip to Green Market!!
We went to the Farmer's Market on Union Square (I call it the Green Market because when I went there, I only saw healthy and green food.) We met with Sara and she show us around the market. I was really interested because I got to see so many different types of foods, mostly vegetables and fruits. There was this one lady (I forgot her name...) who was really into learning about different types of really good tasting veggies and fruits. It was really funny, especially when she talked about the tiny yellow tomatoes. I'm personally not a big fan of tomatoes but after hearing her, I try it... It... actually taste really sweet!! Also we went on a treasure hunt for different types of food grown on the farm. I really like the treasure hunt because I got to eat and drink free foods (samples). This one lady gave me the evil eyes when I went to get a sample of Italian Sausage!! Hey, It samples so I can still get even if I'm not buying anything!!! Anyway the trip was really fun. I got to learn more about food and it's showing of when I go on grocery shopping.:3

Project: Jessica's Story
Hi everyone!!!!! My name is Jessica McDonald. Yes, my last name is spell the same way as the worldwide famous McDonald's restaurants. (In case any one is wondering, and I'm pretty sure you all are.) I will be telling my life story of obesity and how it had affected me. I seriously advise children that are YOUNGER than 14 to not read this because you will be having NIGHTMARES!!!!! WOOO.... Sooo scare!! It's up to you, if you listen to this or not. None of my bee- wax Now we are finish with all the, let get on with the story. As you all know obesity of any kind has been the number 1 health problem in the U.S. If you didn't know that, then I feel sorry for you!!! Since you must be stupid... Now back to the story, both my parents work overseas and still do. Therefore you can conclude that I'm always alone in the huge mansion with 7 floors NOT including the basement and attic. I'm the only child, so I couldn't play with any one. Most people avoid me because they felt I always outshine them especially when they come to my mansion. Also they feel they can't connect with me because of my status. so most people just ignore me, and some other people just use my money. so I don't play with anyone!! Some during my boredom, I just eat food because it comforts me and take away some of my spare time. I loved chocolate, ice creams, pudding, pies, yogurt, sodas, McDonald's, Wendy's, KFC, Popeyes, Burger Kings, meats, fried foods, candies, Burger Kings, etc. Yeah it's consider junk food, but when you're all lonely what do you do.... Just sit and exercise all day??!!! Well, apparently I don't!!!! So eating all that junk food, I of course got fat and fatter. Until I was like a about to pop balloon. At that time I weighted 269 pounds at the age of 13. Every time I look in the mirror I see a person that is obese, and I just get more depress... So I eat more, to get rid of the depression. My dream was to have a supermodel- like figure, but I lose hope in that every time I look in the mirror. MY doctor said that I was obese, which means my body mass index was unhealthy. My parents, never said anything because they were always overseas and when they were home they were to busy with other stuff. They never once looked my way when I went through all that. Soon I had to go to the doctor's office very 3 days to check on my body. It was in May when my doctor told me my results of the check- up. It was depressing..... Wahhh!!! I got diabetes, high blood pressure, and sleep problems. I was only able to sleep 2 or 3 hours every day.... Soon I had heavy black bags under my eyes like I been fighting every day!!! Grrrrrr!!! My friends tease me because of my weight.... My parents didn't care sh*t about what I ate!!!! So I kept on eating... Soon my mansion smelled like fast food in every corner... Also eating fast food became my hobby and lifestyle!!! I didn't go outside because I knew people would stare and whisper about me... Soon I had Cushing's Syndrome, which is when the body contains excess about of cortisol.... Soon I had to go to the hospital every week, sometimes to get surgery or sometimes for a check- up... Right now my life is a mess... So children, no matter how good fast foods are, they can kill you. Look at the medical bills I had to pay ($1.5 million).....

Farmer's Market
1. A farmer's market is an marketplace that sells farmer's products. These products are produce by the farmers and are sold usually in the public.
2. People go to the farmer's market because the products are fresh and the flavor and appearance is natural. You can see the freshness of the products. While in the supermarket the products take a few days to arrive and the products aren't as fresh. Also products in the supermarket may contain diseases. Buying the products from the farmer's market helps with regional growth. It puts the money into the farmers, not just 5%. Also it reduce fuel and resources and tax dollars.
3. People may not want to go to the farmer's market because there isn't one here their neighborhood. Also they can't afford the products there. Going to the supermarket might be more convenient to some people.
4. I don't go to the farmer's market often because I don't do the shopping. My mom does the shopping instead since the closest farmer's market to my neighborhood is the Union Square one in Manhattan. so if I need to buy anything I usually go to the supermarket that is 3 blocks away from my house. I'm too lazy to travel, and if I need to shop for food my mom will take the pleasure in shopping. Also I don't think I need to because somehow my fridge is always full. I have plenty to eat except I can't eat any junk food because everything in my fridge is either healthy food or precooked healthy food (again). sometimes I wonder if I'm living the lifestyle of a monk. I'm a monk...mo- nk....mon-k... When I do go to the farmer's market I usually buy fruits and juices because they have very little meat products. I don't really like vegetables so I tend not to buy them. I know vegetables are goood for you. But I don't like it and no one and I mean no one can force me to eat veggies. You got that, don't make me beat you to .....!!!!! I love citrus fruits and juices so I buy them more often. Also I don't stay there for long because it's out int he streets so it gets really crowded and I hate crowded places. Also many things are very expensive there and there rarely are sales so I don't buy many stuff from there. Also they don't have ice cream!!! Wahhhhh!!! I like the part when you get to ask the farmer about his/ her products. They give you really interesting answers, so I buy products from them when they give funny/ interesting answers. I know I'm picky!!! ^-^
5. The Union Square farmer's market has its products coming from Katchkie Farm, New Jersey, Kinderhook, and New York too. WoHo!!! Go New York!!!

Food Inc
How many fats and carbs you need in an average day?
You need 6- 11 servings of carbs in an average day, like bread, pasta, cereal, and grains. Yahh!!!!! I eat a lot of carbs because I'm awesome.Teeee!
If you need vigorous exercise daily?
No, you don't need to do vigorous exercise daily. It is actually bad for you, if you do vigorous exercise daily!!! Since you only need to do 4 days of 1 hour vigorous exercise. If you over exercise, your body doesn't have enough energy to burn off and you can damage your internal organs like that.
Hii this Lois on Jin's thingy. Hahahah hope she won't notice. Yayyyyy!!! I love her!!
I just did!!! Bad, bad Lois >.<>
How many vitamins do you need daily?
You need 2 - 3 servings of vitamins. I just go buy some orange juice or Vick's cough drops. They are goodddd.
Is eating a balanced plate necessary?
Duhhh..

Goals For A Healthy Lifestyle
Many people don't have a healthy eating system like me, so I would I like to have a healthy eating sytem because I want to be healthy! I have many goals to achieve that wish:
- At least 3 servings of vegetables per day.
- At least 3 servings of fruits per day!!! I love oranges : -) !!!
- At most 1 high- fat and high- sugar snacks per week because I love my junk food even if it is not healthy. I will try to cut down on the high- fat and high- sugar snacks a.k.a junk food by eating/ drinking only 1 per week. I usually have 1 high- fat and high- sugar snack per day, so that a big change in my eating system. Hope I can keep it up : P !!
- I should do 7 days of daily activity very week, but I don' t need to worry to much because I do it every day already!!! Yay for me!!!
- I should do 4 days of vigorous activity every week. I guess i need to work on that the most, but that should be easy, since there is a YMCA near my house and a track. Just need to be less lazy and find time on my computer to go outside...... Maybe... JK!!
- Spend at most only 2 hours on the computer or TV but I don't spend so much time on the TV... Good for me. Just need to spend less time on the computer but I love my computer. I' ll try my hardest : 3 ...
Now people, since you know my goals why don't you tell me yours.... Wish me luck on my new goals for a healthy eating system. Give me confidence!!! Roooaaarrr :0 !!!!
